Job Responsibilities

  • Become ATI Champions within 90 days of hire date.
  • Prepare course plans and materials.
  • Deliver course lectures/facilitate labs and/or clinical rotations.
  • Monitor equipment and supply needs.
  • Maintain classroom.
  • Seek out an approved substitute in case of faculty member’s need for absence.
  • Enforce HCI policies (attendance, dress code, clinical policies, etc.).
  • Participate in orientation, graduation, and pinning ceremonies.
  • Work on retention plans and program development.
  • Attend staff and faculty meetings.
  • Participate in committees and knowledge sharing forums.
  • Facilitate student engagement.
  • Direct and assess student progress in achieving theory and performance requirements.
  • Monitor student progress and follow-up as needed.
  • Provide weekly feedback reports to the ADON, DON, SVPAA, and COO.
  • Maintain relevant licensures, certifications, and paperwork for personnel file.
  • Maintain a minimum of eight hours of Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) annually.
  • Encourage students to submit course evaluations and use feedback to improve course delivery.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Participate in ACEN and other accreditation activities.
  • Comply with all governmental regulations and standards of accreditation.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

Experience: Minimum of four years of related practical work experience in the subject area(s) taught.

Education: Minimum of an earned Bachelor’s degree with a major in nursing (BSN or equivalent) from an accredited nursing program.

License & Certification:

  • Current, active, and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license issued by the Florida Department of Health
  • Current and active Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association

Schedule:

  • Teach a minimum of 30 hours per week.
  • Obtain prior approval for overtime.
