Job Title: Nurse Advice Line

Position: Nursing role focused on telephone triage

Job Type: Full Time

Pay: $33.79 - $52.37 / hr

Shift: Mid-Shift (4 ten-hour shifts; Monday-Friday and 1 weekend shift)

Job Responsibilities

  • Collect patient health data to identify unique patient/caller needs.
  • Perform initial assessment for patients of all age groups including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
  • Evaluate care advice for appropriateness for the age of patient/caller.
  • Differentiate normal from abnormal findings, identify problems, and assess patient needs.
  • Guide patients/callers on evaluating symptoms and when to seek further help.
  • Document symptoms, nursing assessments, advice, and patient/caller responses.
  • Perform quality improvement activities including documentation audits.
  • Analyze assessment data to determine appropriate guidelines for patient/caller disposition.
  • Act as a resource for other staff and provide feedback to supervisors.
  • Integrate quality audit findings into nursing practice.

Requirements

Experience: 1-3 years, with two years of recent nursing experience required

Education: Associate's Degree Required

License & Certification:

  • BLS-Basic Life Support (AHA or American Red Cross) required
  • RN-Registered Nurse (DORA) required

Schedule:

  • 40 hours per week
  • Mid shifts determined by staffing needs, starting between 10:00 and 13:00
  • 1 weekend shift determined by staffing needs
