Job Responsibilities
- Conduct admission assessments, medication reconciliation, and mobility assessments in the emergency department.
- Assist physicians with entering admission orders and perform skin assessments on patients being admitted to the hospital.
- Provide care for patients in the ED holding area, depending on hospital census.
- Develop and maintain productive working relationships internally and externally.
- Demonstrate an understanding of cultural differences and hold peers accountable for healthy relationships.
- Communicate identified safety hazards to peers and management.
- Provide detailed teaching to patients and families, guiding them through care episodes.
- Support the development of students, new staff, and colleagues; may serve as a preceptor.
- Create an environment of open dialogue and continuous development by seeking feedback.
- Apply the nursing process within the framework of Relationship Based Care to create a healing environment.
- Formulate daily goals and care plans involving patients as partners.
- Demonstrate critical thinking in identifying and addressing patients' clinical, social, safety, psychological, and spiritual issues.
- Document patient care comprehensively to promote communication among caregivers.
- Incorporate organizational goals to improve patient safety, quality, and satisfaction.
- Create a caring, compassionate patient-focused experience by building healing relationships.
- Actively participate in unit-based shared governance and quality improvement efforts.
- Adapt to change and demonstrate flexibility with the change process.
- Utilize research and evidence-based practice to support improvements in clinical care.

Requirements
Experience: Zero to two years of experience.
Education: BSN preferred.
License & Certification:
- Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in the state where the facility is located or in a state covered by a licensure compact agreement
- CPR certification based on AHA standards within 30 days of hire
Schedule:
- Rotating holiday and weekend shifts
