Job Responsibilities
- Assesses the physical and psychosocial status of patients by means of interview, health history, physical examination, and diagnostic studies.
- Develops a diagnosis and works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to formulate and implement the treatment plan.
- Surgically closes wounds, performs incision and drainage, debridement, and dressing (the surgeon must remain in the immediate area).
- Scrubs with the collaborating surgeon in the operating room.
- Performs complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, as credentialed.
- Diagnoses medical and surgical problems and prescribes necessary treatment and services for quality patient care.
- Implements appropriate management based on laboratory results, physical assessment, routine diagnostic and follow-up studies, and therapeutic measures.
- Identifies, analyzes, and resolves patient care issues to foster significant improvement in patient care and outcomes.
- Dictates and documents in an accurate and timely manner.
- Performs patient education and maintains provision of preventive health services.
- Conducts or participates in multidisciplinary rounds.
- Participates in the department on call rotation and/or weekend/holiday rounding as required.
- Prescribes medication.
- Participates in quality initiatives to ensure consistent attainment of key quality indicators.
- Supports IRB approved clinical research/trials by ordering diagnostic tests, prescreening patients, recording laboratory results, and documenting outcomes.
- Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies.
- Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
- Acts as a role model and resource person for staff.
- Assists in teaching students, residents, and interns in complex techniques and procedures.
- Participates in the review and revision of policies and procedures.
- Establishes relationships with professional and other health-related groups within the community.
- Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication with diverse populations.

Requirements
Experience: Minimum of two (2) years Nurse Practitioner experience.
Education: MN, MSN, DNP, PhD, or DNS degree in nursing required.
License & Certification:
- ARNP license in the state of Florida
- National advanced certification from an approved nursing specialty board
- Current BLS certification
Schedule:
- M-F, 0800-1700
